DESCRIPTION:Άγιοι\, εορταί\, και Αναγνώσεις – Τρίτη\, 1 Απριλίου 2025\nΆγιοι και εορταί: Μαρία η Αιγυπτία; Ευθυμίου του θαυματουργού του Ρώσου; Μάρτυρες Γερόντιος και Βασιλίδης\nΑυστηρή Νηστεία\nΑνάγνωσις Παλαιᾱς Διαθήκης: Ησαΐας 40:18-31\nτίνι ωμοιώσατε Κύριον και τίνι ομοιώματι ωμοιώσατε αυτόν; μή εικόνα εποίησε τέκτων\, ή χρυσοχόος χωνεύσας χρυσίον περιεχρύσωσεν αυτόν\, ομοίωμα κατεσκεύασεν αυτόν; ξύλον γαρ άσηπτον εκλέγεται τέκτων και σοφώς ζητεί πώς στήσει εικόνα αυτού και ίνα μή σαλεύητε.\n ου γνώσεσθε; ουκ ακούσεσθε; ουκ ανηγγέλη εξ αρχής υμίν; ουκ έγνωτε τα θεμέλια της γής; ο κατέχων τον γύρον της γής\, και οι ενοικούντες εν αυτή ως ακρίδες\, ο στήσας ως καμάραν τον ουρανόν και διατείνας ως σκηνήν κατοικείν\, ο διδούς άρχοντας ως ουδέν άρχειν\, την δε γήν ως ουδέν εποίησεν.\n ου γαρ μή φυτεύσωσιν\, ουδέ μή σπείρωσιν\, ουδέ μή ριζωθή εις την γήν η ρίζα αυτών· έπνευσεν επ᾿ αυτούς και εξηράνθησαν\, και καταιγίς ως φρύγανα λήψεται αυτούς.\n νύν ούν τίνι με ωμοιώσατε και υψωθήσομαι; είπεν ο άγιος. αναβλέψατε εις ύψος τους οφθαλμούς υμών και ίδετε\, τίς κατέδειξε ταύτα πάντα; ο εκφέρων κατ᾿ αριθμόν τον κόσμον αυτού πάντας επ᾿ ονόματι καλέσει· από πολλής δόξης και εν κράτει ισχύος αυτού ουδέν σε έλαθε.\n Μή γαρ είπης\, ᾿Ιακώβ\, και τί ελάλησας\, ᾿Ισραήλ· απεκρύβη η οδός μου από του Θεού\, και ο Θεός μου την κρίσιν αφείλε και απέστη; και νύν ουκ έγνως ει μή ήκουσας; Θεός αιώνιος ο Θεός ο κατασκευάσας τα άκρα της γής\, ου πεινάσει\, ουδέ κοπιάσει\, ουδέ εστιν εξεύρεσις της φρονήσεως αυτού· διδούς τοις πεινώσιν ισχύν και τοις μή οδυνωμένοις λύπην. πεινάσουσι γαρ νεώτεροι\, και κοπιάσουσι νεανίσκοι\, και εκλεκτοί ανίσχυες έσονται· οι δε υπομένοντες τον Θεόν αλλάξουσιν ισχύν\, πτεροφυήσουιν ως αετοί\, δραμούνται και ου κοπιάσουσι\, βαδιούνται και ου πεινάσουσιν.\nΑνάγνωσις Παλαιᾱς Διαθήκης: Γένεσις 15:1-15\nΜετά δε τα ρήματα ταύτα εγενήθη ρήμα Κυρίου πρός ῞Αβραμ εν οράματι\, λέγων· μή φοβού ῞Αβραμ\, εγώ υπερασπίζω σου· ο μισθός σου πολύς έσται σφόδρα. λέγει δε ῞Αβραμ· δέσποτα Κύριε\, τί μοι δώσεις; εγώ δε απολύομαι άτεκνος· ο δε υιός Μασέκ της οικογενούς μου\, ούτος Δαμασκός ᾿Ελιέζερ. και είπεν ῞Αβραμ· επειδή εμοί ουκ έδωκας σπέρμα\, ο δε οικογενής μου κληρονομήσει μοι. και ευθύς φωνή Κυρίου εγένετο πρός αυτόν λέγουσα· ου κληρονομήσει σε ούτος\, αλλ᾿ ός εξελεύσεται εκ σού\, ούτος κληρονομήσει σε. εξήγαγε δε αυτόν έξω και είπεν αυτώ· ανάβλεψον δή εις τον ουρανόν και αρίθμησον τους αστέρας\, ει δυνήση εξαριθμήσαι αυτούς. και είπεν· ούτως έσται το σπέρμα σου. και επίστευσεν ῞Αβραμ τω Θεώ\, και ελογίσθη αυτώ εις δικαιοσύνην. είπε δε πρός αυτόν· εγώ ο Θεός ο εξαγαγών σε εκ χώρας Χαλδαίων\, ώστε δούναί σοι την γήν ταύτην κληρονομήσαι. είπε δέ\, Δέσποτα Κύριε\, κατά τί γνώσομαι ότι κληρονομήσω αυτήν; είπε δε αυτώ· λάβε μοι δάμαλιν τριετίζουσαν και αίγα τριετίζουσαν και κριόν τριετίζοντα και τρυγόνα και περιστεράν. έλαβε δε αυτώ πάντα ταύτα και διείλεν αυτά μέσα και έθηκεν αυτά αντιπρόσωπα αλλήλοις\, τα δε όρνεα ου διείλε. κατέβη δε όρνεα επί τα σώματα\, επί τα διχοτομήματα αυτών\, και συνεκάθησεν αυτοίς ῞Αβραμ. περί δε ηλίου δυσμάς έκστασις επέπεσε τω ῞Αβραμ\, και ιδού φόβος σκοτεινός μέγας επιπίπτει αυτώ. και ερρέθη πρός ῞Αβραμ· γινώσκων γνώση ότι πάροικον έσται το σπέρμα σου εν γή ουκ ιδία\, και δουλώσουσιν αυτούς και κακώσουσιν αυτούς και ταπεινώσουσιν αυτούς τετρακόσια έτη. το δε έθνος\, ώ εάν δουλεύσωσι\, κρινώ εγώ· μετά δε ταύτα εξελεύσονται ώδε μετά αποσκευής πολλής. σύ δε απελεύση πρός τους πατέρας σου εν ειρήνη\, τραφείς εν γήρα καλώ.\nΑνάγνωσις Παλαιᾱς Διαθήκης: Παροιμίαι 15:7-19\nΧείλη σοφών δέδεται αισθήσει\, καρδία δε αφρόνων ουκ ασφαλείς. θυσίαι ασεβών βδέλυγμα Κυρίω\, ευχαί δε κατευθυνόντων δεκταί παρ᾿ αυτώ. βδέλυγμα Κυρίω οδοί ασεβούς\, διώκοντας δε δικαιοσύνην αγαπά. παιδεία ακάκου γνωρίζεται υπό των παριόντων\, οι δε μισούντες ελέγχους τελευτώσιν αισχρώς. ᾅδης και απώλεια φανερά παρά τω Κυρίω· πώς ουχί και αι καρδίαι των ανθρώπων; ουκ αγαπήσει απαίδευτος τους ελέγχοντας αυτόν\, μετά δε σοφών ουχ ομιλήσει. καρδίας ευφραινομένης πρόσωπον θάλλει\, εν δε λύπαις ούσης σκυθρωπάζει. καρδία ορθή ζητεί αίσθησιν\, στόμα δε απαιδεύτων γνώσεται κακά. πάντα τον χρόνον οι οφθαλμοί των κακών προσδέχονται κακά\, οι δε αγαθοί ησυχάζουσι διαπαντός. κρείσσον μικρά μερίς μετά φόβου Κυρίου ή θησαυροί μεγάλοι μετά αφοβίας. κρείσσων ξενισμός μετά λαχάνων πρός φιλίαν και χάριν ή παράθεσις μόσχων μετά έχθρας. ανήρ θυμώδης παρασκευάζει μάχας\, μακρόθυμος δε και την μέλλουσαν καταπραΰνει. μακρόθυμος ανήρ κατασβέσει κρίσεις\, ο δε ασεβής εγείρει μάλλον. οδοί αεργών εστρωμέναι ακάνθαις\, αι δε των ανδρείων τετριμμέναι.

He who is impoverished chooses for an offering wood that will not rot; he seeks out a skilful craftsman to set up an image that will not move.\n Have you not known? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?  It is he who sits above the circle of the earth\, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain\, and spreads them like a tent to dwell in; who brings princes to nought\, and makes the rulers of the earth as nothing.\n Scarcely are they planted\, scarcely sown\, scarcely has their stem taken root in the earth\, when he blows upon them\, and they wither\, and the tempest carries them off like stubble.\n To whom then will you compare me\, that I should be like him? The way of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD\, but he loves him who pursues righteousness.  There is severe discipline for him who forsakes the way; he who hates reproof will die.  Sheol and Abaddon lie open before the LORD\, how much more the hearts of men!  A scoffer does not like to be reproved; he will not go to the wise.  A glad heart makes a cheerful countenance\, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is broken.  The mind of him who has understanding seeks knowledge\, but the mouths of fools feed on folly.  All the days of the afflicted are evil\, but a cheerful heart has a continual feast.  Better is a little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble with it.  Better is a dinner of herbs where love is than a fatted ox and hatred with it.  A hot-tempered man stirs up strife\, but he who is slow to anger quiets contention.  The way of a sluggard is overgrown with thorns\, but the path of the upright is a level highway.

Και εισελθόντα αυτόν εις οίκον οι μαθηταί αυτού επηρώτων αυτόν κατ᾿ ιδίαν\, ότι ημείς ουκ ηδυνήθημεν εκβαλείν αυτό. καί είπεν αυτοίς· τούτο το γένος εν ουδενί δύναται εξελθείν ει μή εν προσευχή και νηστεία. DESCRIPTION:Άγιοι\, εορταί\, και Αναγνώσεις – Παρασκευή\, 28 Μαρτίου 2025\nΆγιοι και εορταί: Όσιος Ιλαρίων ο Νέος; Ηρωδίων\, εκ των 70; Στέφανος ο Θαυματουργός\nΑυστηρή Νηστεία\nΑνάγνωσις Παλαιᾱς Διαθήκης: Ησαΐας 29:13-23\nΚαι είπε Κύριος· εγγίζει μοι ο λαός ούτος εν τω στόματι αυτού και εν τοις χείλεσιν αυτών τιμώσί με\, η δε καρδία αυτών πόρρω απέχει απ᾿ εμού· μάτην δε σέβονταί με διδάσκοντες εντάλματα ανθρώπων και διδασκαλίας. διά τούτο ιδού εγώ προσθήσω του μετατεθήναι τον λαόν τούτον και μεταθήσω αυτούς και απολώ την σοφίαν των σοφών και την σύνεσιν των συνετών κρύψω. ουαί οι βαθέως βουλήν ποιούντες και ου διά Κυρίου· ουαί οι εν κρυφή βουλήν ποιούντες και έσται εν σκότει τα έργα αυτών και ερούσι· τίς εώρακεν ημάς; και τίς ημάς γνώσεται ή ά ημείς ποιούμεν; ουχ ως ο πηλός του κεραμέως λογισθήσεσθε; μή ερεί το πλάσμα τω πλάσαντι αυτό· ου σύ με έπλασας; ή το ποίημα τω ποιήσαντι· ου συνετώς με εποίησας;\n ουκέτι μικρόν και μετατεθήσεται ο Λίβανος\, ως το όρος το Χέρμελ και το Χέρμελ εις δρυμόν λογισθήσεται; και ακούσονται εν τη ημέρα εκείνη κωφοί λόγους βιβλίου\, και οι εν τω σκότει και οι εν τη ομίχλη οφθαλμοί τυφλών όψονται· και αγαλλιάσονται πτωχοί διά Κύριον εν ευφροσύνη\, και οι απηλπισμένοι των ανθρώπων εμπλησθήσονται ευφροσύνης. εξέλιπεν άνομος\, και απώλετο υπερήφανος\, και εξωλοθρεύθησαν οι ανομούντες επί κακία\, και οι ποιούντες αμαρτείν ανθρώπους εν λόγω· πάντας δε τους ελέγχοντας εν πύλαις πρόσκομμα θήσουσιν ότι επλαγίασαν επ᾿ αδίκοις δίκαιον.\n διά τούτο τάδε λέγει Κύριος επί τον οίκον ᾿Ιακώβ\, όν αφώρισεν εξ ῾Αβραάμ· ου νύν αισχυνθήσεται ᾿Ιακώβ\, ουδέ νύν το πρόσωπον μεταβαλεί ᾿Ισραήλ· αλλ᾿ όταν ίδωσι τα τέκνα αυτών τα έργα μου\, δι᾿ εμέ αγιάσουσιν το όνομά μου και αγιάσουσιν τον άγιον ᾿Ιακώβ και τον Θεόν του ᾿Ισραήλ φοβηθήσονται.\nΑνάγνωσις Παλαιᾱς Διαθήκης: Γένεσις 12:1-7\nΚαι είπε Κύριος τω ῞Αβραμ· έξελθε εκ της γής σου και εκ της συγγενείας σου και εκ του οίκου του πατρός σου και δεύρο εις την γήν\, ήν άν σοι δείξω· και ποιήσω σε εις έθνος μέγα και ευλογήσω σε και μεγαλυνώ το όνομά σου\, και έση ευλογημένος· και ευλογήσω τους ευλογούντάς σε και τους καταρωμένους σε καταράσομαι· και ενευλογηθήσονται εν σοί πάσαι αι φυλαί της γής. και επορεύθη ῞Αβραμ\, καθάπερ ελάλησεν αυτώ Κύριος\, και ᾤχετο μετ᾿ αυτού Λώτ. ῞Αβραμ δε ήν ετών εβδομηκονταπέντε\, ότε εξήλθε εκ Χαρράν. και έλαβεν ῞Αβραμ Σάραν την γυναίκα αυτού και τον Λώτ υιόν του αδελφού αυτού και πάντα τα υπάρχοντα αυτών\, όσα εκτήσαντο\, και πάσαν ψυχήν\, ήν εκτήσαντο εκ Χαρράν\, και εξήλθοσαν πορευθήναι εις γήν Χαναάν. και διώδευσεν ῞Αβραμ την γήν εις το μήκος αυτής έως του τόπου Συχέμ\, επί την δρύν την υψηλήν· οι δε Χαναναίοι τότε κατῴκουν την γήν. και ώφθη Κύριος τω ῞Αβραμ και είπεν αυτώ· τω σπέρματί σου δώσω την γήν ταύτην. και ᾠκοδόμησεν εκεί ῞Αβραμ θυσιαστήριον Κυρίω τω οφθέντι αυτώ.\nΑνάγνωσις Παλαιᾱς Διαθήκης: Παροιμίαι 14:15-26\nΤων εαυτού οδών πλησθήσεται θρασυκάρδιος\, από δε των διανοημάτων αυτού ανήρ αγαθός. άκακος πιστεύει παντί λόγω\, πανούργος δε έρχεται εις μετάνοιαν. σοφός φοβηθείς εξέκλινεν από κακού\, ο δε άφρων εαυτώ πεποιθώς μίγνυται ανόμω. οξύθυμος πράσσει μετά αβουλίας\, ανήρ δε φρόνιμος πολλά υποφέρει. μεριούνται άφρονες κακίαν\, οι δε πανούργοι κρατήσουσιν αισθήσεως. ολισθήσουσι κακοί έναντι αγαθών\, και ασεβείς θεραπεύσουσι θύρας δικαίων. φίλοι μισήσουσι φίλους πτωχούς\, φίλοι δε πλουσίων πολλοί. ο ατιμάζων πένητας αμαρτάνει\, ελεών δε πτωχούς μακαριστός. πλανώμενοι τεκταίνουσι κακά\, έλεον δε και αλήθειαν τεκταίνουσιν αγαθοί. ουκ επίστανται έλεον και πίστιν τέκτονες κακών\, ελεημοσύναι δε και πίστεις παρά τέκτοσιν αγαθοίς. εν παντί μεριμνώντι ένεστι περισσόν\, ο δε ηδύς και ανάλγητος εν ενδεία έσται. στέφανος σοφών πλούτος αυτών\, η δε διατριβή αφρόνων κακή. ρύσεται εκ κακών ψυχήν μάρτυς πιστός\, εκκαίει δε ψεύδη δόλιος. εν φόβω Κυρίου ελπίς ισχύος\, τοις δε τέκνοις αυτού καταλείπει έρεισμα.

Because you have said\, “We have made a covenant with death\, and with Sheol we have an agreement; when the overwhelming scourge passes through it will not come to us; for we have made lies our refuge\, and in falsehood we have taken shelter”; therefore thus says the Lord GOD\, “Behold\, I am laying in Zion for a foundation a stone\, a tested stone\, a precious cornerstone\, of a sure foundation: ‘He who believes will not be in haste.’  And I will make justice the line\, and righteousness the plummet; and hail will sweep away the refuge of lies\, and waters will overwhelm the shelter.”  Then your covenant with death will be annulled\, and your agreement with Sheol will not stand; when the overwhelming scourge passes through you will be beaten down by it. The righteous has enough to satisfy his appetite\, but the belly of the wicked suffers want.  Wisdom builds her house\, but folly with her own hands tears it down.  He who walks in uprightness fears the LORD\, but he who is devious in his ways despises him.  The talk of a fool is a rod for his back\, but the lips of the wise will preserve them.  Where there are no oxen\, there is no grain; but abundant crops come by the strength of the ox.  A faithful witness does not lie\, but a false witness breathes out lies.  A scoffer seeks wisdom in vain\, but knowledge is easy for a man of understanding.

DESCRIPTION:Άγιοι\, εορταί\, και Αναγνώσεις – Τετάρτη\, 26 Μαρτίου 2025\nΆγιοι και εορταί: Σύναξις Αρχαγγέλου Γαβριήλ; 26 Μάρτυρες\, οι εν Γοτθία; Ειρηναίος ο ιερομάρτυς της Ουγγαρίας\nΗμέρα Νηστείας (Κατάλυσις οίνου και ελαίου)\nΑνάγνωσις Παλαιᾱς Διαθήκης: Ησαΐας 26:21-27:9\nΙδού γαρ Κύριος από του αγίου επάγει την οργήν επί τους ενοικούντας επί της γής\, και ανακαλύψει η γή το αίμα αυτής και ου κατακαλύψει τους ανηρημένους επ᾿ αυτής.\nεν τη ημέρα εκείνη επάξει ο Θεός την μάχαιραν την αγίαν και την μεγάλην και την ισχυράν επί τον δράκοντα όφιν φεύγοντα\, επί τον δράκοντα όφιν σκολιόν και ανελεί τον δράκοντα. τη ημέρα εκείνη αμπελών καλός επιθύμημα εξάρχειν κατ᾿ αυτής. εγώ πόλις οχυρά\, πόλις πολιουρκουμένη\, μάτην ποτιώ αυτήν· αλώσεται γαρ νυκτός\, ημέρας δε πεσείται το τείχος. ουκ έστιν ή ουκ επελάβετο αυτής· τίς με θήσει φυλάσσειν καλάμην εν αγρώ; διά την πολεμίαν ταύτην ηθέτηκα αυτήν· τοίνυν διά τούτο εποίησε Κύριος πάντα όσα συνέταξε. κατακέκαυμαι\, βοήσονται οι ενοικούντες εν αυτή\, ποιήσωμεν ειρήνην αυτώ\, ποιήσωμεν ειρήνην.\n οι ερχόμενοι\, τέκνα ᾿Ιακώβ\, βλαστήσει και εξανθήσει ᾿Ισραήλ\, και εμπλησθήσεται η οικουμένη του καρπού αυτού\,\n μή ως αυτός επάταξε\, και αυτός ούτως πληγήσεται\, και ως αυτός ανείλεν\, ούτως αναιρεθήσεται; μαχόμενος και ονειδίζων εξαποστελεί αυτούς· ου σύ ήσθα ο μελετών τω πνεύματι τω σκληρώ ανελείν αυτούς πνεύματι θυμού; διά τούτο αφαιρεθήσεται η ανομία ᾿Ιακώβ\, και τούτό εστιν η ευλογία αυτού\, όταν αφέλωμαι την αμαρτίαν αυτού\, όταν θώσι πάντας τους λίθους των βωμών κατακεκομμένους ως κονίαν λεπτήν· και ου μή μείνη τα δένδρα αυτών\, και τα είδωλα αυτών εκκεκομμένα ώσπερ δρυμός μακράν.Ανάγνωσις Παλαιᾱς Διαθήκης: Γένεσις 9:18-10:1\n῏Ησαν δε οι υιοί Νώε\, οι εξελθόντες εκ της κιβωτού\, Σήμ\, Χάμ\, ᾿Ιάφεθ· Χάμ δε ήν πατήρ Χαναάν. τρείς ούτοί εισιν υιοί Νώε· από τούτων διεσπάρησαν επί πάσαν την γήν.\nΚαι ήρξατο Νώε άνθρωπος γεωργός γής και εφύτευσεν αμπελώνα. και έπιεν εκ του οίνου και εμεθύσθη και εγυμνώθη εν τω οίκω αυτού. και είδε Χάμ ο πατήρ Χαναάν την γύμνωσιν του πατρός αυτού και εξελθών ανήγγειλε τοις δυσίν αδελφοίς αυτού έξω. και λαβόντες Σήμ και ᾿Ιάφεθ το ιμάτιον επέθεντο επί τα δύο νώτα αυτών και επορεύθησαν οπισθοφανώς και συνεκάλυψαν την γύμνωσιν του πατρός αυτών\, και το πρόσωπον αυτών οπισθοφανώς\, και την γύμνωσιν του πατρός αυτών ουκ είδον. εξένηψε δε Νώε από του οίνου και έγνω όσα εποίησεν αυτώ ο υιός αυτού ο νεώτερος\, και είπεν· επικατάρατος Χαναάν· παίς οικέτης έσται τοις αδελφοίς αυτού. και είπεν· ευλογητός Κύριος ο Θεός του Σήμ\, και έσται Χαναάν παίς οικέτης αυτού. πλατύναι ο Θεός τω ᾿Ιάφεθ\, και κατοικησάτω εν τοις οίκοις του Σήμ και γενηθήτω Χαναάν παίς αυτού. ῎Εζησε δε Νώε μετά τον κατακλυσμόν έτη τριακόσια πεντήκοντα. και εγένοντο πάσαι αι ημέραι Νώε εννακόσια πεντήκοντα έτη\, και απέθανεν. ΑΥΤΑΙ δε αι γενέσεις των υιών Νώε\, Σήμ\, Χάμ\, ᾿Ιάφεθ\, και εγεννήθησαν αυτοίς υιοί μετά τον κατακλυσμόν.\nΑνάγνωσις Παλαιᾱς Διαθήκης: Παροιμίαι 12:23-13:9\nΑνήρ συνετός θρόνος αισθήσεως\, καρδία δε αφρόνων συναντήσεται αραίς.  χείρ εκλεκτών κρατήσει ευχερώς\, δόλιοι δε έσονται εν προνομή.  φοβερός λόγος καρδίαν ταράσσει ανδρός δικαίου\, αγγελία δε αγαθή ευφραίνει αυτόν.  επιγνώμων δίκαιος εαυτού φίλος έσται\, αι δε γνώμαι των ασεβών ανεπιεικείς. αμαρτάνοντας καταδιώξεται κακά η δε οδός των ασεβών πλανήσει αυτούς.  ουκ επιτεύξεται δόλιος θήρας\, κτήμα δε τίμιον ανήρ καθαρός.  εν οδοίς δικαιοσύνης ζωή\, οδοί δε μνησικάκων εις θάνατον.\nΥιός πανούργος υπήκοος πατρί\, υιός δε ανήκοος εν απωλεία.  από καρπών δικαιοσύνης φάγεται αγαθός\, ψυχαί δε παρανόμων ολούνται άωροι.  ός φυλάσσει το εαυτού στόμα\, τηρεί την εαυτού ψυχήν\, ο δε προπετής χείλεσι πτοήσει εαυτόν.  εν επιθυμίαις εστί πάς αεργός\, χείρες δε ανδρείων εν επιμελεία.  λόγον άδικον μισεί δίκαιος\, ασεβής δε αισχύνεται και ουχ έξει παρρησίαν.  εισίν οι πλουτίζοντες εαυτούς μηδέν έχοντες\, καί εισιν οι ταπεινούντες εαυτούς εν πολλώ πλούτω.  λύτρον ανδρός ψυχής ο ίδιος πλούτος\, πτωχός δε ουχ υφίσταται απειλήν.  φώς δικαίοις διαπαντός\, φώς δε ασεβών σβέννυται.

In that day the LORD with his hard and great and strong sword will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent\, Leviathan the twisting serpent\, and he will slay the dragon that is in the sea.\n In that day: “A pleasant vineyard\, sing of it!  I\, the LORD\, am its keeper; every moment I water it. Lest any one harm it\, I guard it night and day;  I have no wrath. Would that I had thorns and briers to battle! I would set out against them\, I would burn them up together. The hand of the diligent will rule\, while the slothful will be put to forced labor.  Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down\, but a good word makes him glad.  A righteous man turns away from evil\, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.  A slothful man will not catch his prey\, but the diligent man will get precious wealth.  In the path of righteousness is life\, but the way of error leads to death.  A wise son hears his father’s instruction\, but a scoffer does not listen to rebuke.  From the fruit of his mouth a good man eats good\, but the desire of the treacherous is for violence.  He who guards his mouth preserves his life; he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.  The soul of the sluggard craves\, and gets nothing\, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.  A righteous man hates falsehood\, but a wicked man acts shamefully and disgracefully.  Righteousness guards him whose way is upright\, but sin overthrows the wicked.  One man pretends to be rich\, yet has nothing; another pretends to be poor\, yet has great wealth.  The ransom of a man’s life is his wealth\, but a poor man has no means of redemption.  The light of the righteous rejoices\, but the lamp of the wicked will be put out.

Εν ώ γαρ πέπονθεν αυτός πειρασθείς\, δύναται τοις πειραζομένοις βοηθήσαι.\nΑνάγνωσις Ευαγγελίου: Κατά Λουκάν 1:24-38\nΕν ταις ημέραις εκείναις συνέλαβεν ᾿Ελισάβετ η γυνή αυτού\, και περιέκρυβεν εαυτήν μήνας πέντε\, λέγουσα ότι ούτω μοι πεποίηκεν ο Κύριος εν ημέραις αίς επείδεν αφελείν το όνειδός μου εν ανθρώποις. ᾿Εν δε τω μηνί τω έκτω απεστάλη ο άγγελος Γαβριήλ υπό του Θεού εις πόλιν της Γαλιλαίας\, ή όνομα Ναζαρέτ\,πρός παρθένον μεμνηστευμένην ανδρί\, ώ όνομα ᾿Ιωσήφ\, εξ οίκου Δαυΐδ\, και το όνομα της παρθένου Μαριάμ. και εισελθών ο άγγελος πρός αυτήν είπε· χαίρε\, κεχαριτωμένη· ο Κύριος μετά σού· ευλογημένη σύ εν γυναιξίν. η δε ιδούσα διεταράχθη επί τω λόγω αυτού\, και διελογίζετο ποταπός είη ο ασπασμός ούτος. και είπεν ο άγγελος αυτή· μή φοβού\, Μαριάμ· εύρες γαρ χάριν παρά τω Θεώ. και ιδού συλλήψη εν γαστρί και τέξη υιόν\, και καλέσεις το όνομα αυτού ᾿Ιησούν. ούτος έσται μέγας και υιός υψίστου κληθήσεται\, και δώσει αυτώ Κύριος ο Θεός τον θρόνον Δαυῒδ του πατρός αυτού\, και βασιλεύσει επί τον οίκον ᾿Ιακώβ εις τους αιώνας\, και της βασιλείας αυτού ουκ έσται τέλος. είπε δε Μαριάμ πρός τον άγγελον· πώς έσται μοι τούτο\, επεί άνδρα ου γινώσκω; και αποκριθείς ο άγγελος είπεν αυτή· Πνεύμα ῞Αγιον επελεύσεται επί σέ και δύναμις υψίστου επισκιάσει σοι· διό και το γεννώμενον άγιον κληθήσεται υιός Θεού. και ιδού ᾿Ελισάβετ η συγγενής σου και αυτή συνειληφυία υιόν εν γήρει αυτής\, και ούτος μήν έκτος εστίν αυτή τη καλουμένη στείρα· ότι ουκ αδυνατήσει παρά τω Θεώ πάν ρήμα. είπε δε Μαριάμ· ιδού η δούλη Κυρίου· γένοιτό μοι κατά το ρήμά σου. και απήλθεν απ᾿ αυτής ο άγγελος.
