Ατενίσας δε Πέτρος εις αυτόν σύν τω ᾿Ιωάννη είπε· βλέψον εις ημάς. Ο δε επείχεν αυτοίς προσδοκών τι παρ᾿ αυτών λαβείν. Είπε δε Πέτρος· αργύριον και χρυσίον ουχ υπάρχει μοι· ό δε έχω τούτό σοι δίδωμι· εν τω ονόματι ᾿Ιησού Χριστού του Ναζωραίου έγειρε και περιπάτει. Και πιάσας αυτόν της δεξιάς χειρός ήγειρε· παραχρήμα δε εστερεώθησαν αυτού αι βάσεις και τα σφυρά\, και εξαλλόμενος έστη και περιεπάτει\, και εισήλθε σύν αυτοίς εις το ιερόν περιπατών και αλλόμενος και αινών τον Θεόν.\nΑνάγνωσις Ευαγγελίου: Κατά Λουκάν 10:16-21\nΕίπεν ο Κυριος τοις εαυτού μαθηταίς· ῾Ο ακούων υμών εμού ακούει\, και ο αθετών υμάς εμέ αθετεί· ο δε εμέ αθετών αθετεί τον αποστείλαντά με. ῾Υπέστρεψαν δε οι εβδομήκοντα μετά χαράς λέγοντες· Κύριε\, και τα δαιμόνια υποτάσσεται ημίν εν τω ονόματί σου. But Peter said\, “I have no silver and gold\, but I give you what I have; in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth\, walk.” And he took him by the right hand and raised him up; and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong. And leaping up he stood and walked and entered the temple with them\, walking and leaping and praising God.\nGospel Reading: Luke 10:16-21\nThe Lord said to his disciples\, “He who hears you hears me\, and he who rejects you rejects me\, and he who rejects me rejects him who sent me.” The seventy returned with joy\, saying\, “Lord\, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” And he said to them\, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold\, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions\, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall hurt you. Εγένετο δε πάση ψυχή φόβος\, πολλά τε τέρατα και σημεία διά των αποστόλων εγίνετο.\nΑνάγνωσις Ευαγγελίου: Κατά Ιωάννην 3:1-15\nΤω καιρώ εκείνω\, άνθρωπος εκ των Φαρισαίων\, Νικόδημος όνομα αυτώ\, άρχων των Ιουδαίων. Ούτος  ήλθε πρός τον Ιησούν νυκτός και είπεν αυτώ· Ῥαββί\, οίδαμεν ότι από Θεού  ελήλυθας διδάσκαλος· ουδείς γαρ ταύτα τα σημεία δύναται ποιείν ά σύ  ποιείς\, εάν μή ᾖ ο Θεός μετ᾽αυτού. Απεκρίθη Ιησούς και είπεν αυτώ· Αμήν αμήν λέγω σοι\, εάν μή τις γεννηθή άνωθεν\, ου δύναται ιδείν την βασιλείαν του Θεού. Λέγει  πρός αυτόν ο Νικόδημος· Πώς δύναται άνθρωπος γεννηθήναι γέρων ών; Μή  δύναται εις την κοιλίαν της μητρός αυτού δεύτερον εισελθείν και  γεννηθήναι; Απεκρίθη Ιησούς·  Αμήν αμήν λέγω σοι\, εάν μή τις γεννηθή εξ ύδατος και Πνεύματος\, ου  δύναται εισελθείν εις την βασιλείαν του Θεού. Το γεγεννημένον εκ της σαρκός σάρξ εστι\, και το γεγεννημένον εκ του Πνεύματος πνεύμά εστι. Μή θαυμάσης ότι είπόν σοι\, δεί υμάς γεννηθήναι άνωθεν. Το  πνεύμα όπου θέλει πνεί\, και την φωνήν αυτού ακούεις\, αλλ᾽ ουκ οίδας  πόθεν έρχεται και πού υπάγει· ούτως εστί πάς ο γεγεννημένος εκ του  Πνεύματος. Απεκρίθη Νικόδημος και είπεν αυτώ· Πώς δύναται ταύτα γενέσθαι; Απεκρίθη Ιησούς και είπεν αυτώ· Σύ ει ο διδάσκαλος του Ισραήλ και ταύτα ου γινώσκεις; Αμήν αμήν λέγω σοι ότι ό οίδαμεν λαλούμεν και ό εωράκαμεν μαρτυρούμεν\, και την μαρτυρίαν ημών ου λαμβάνετε. Ει τα επίγεια είπον υμίν και ου πιστεύετε\, πώς εάν είπω υμίν τα επουράνια πιστεύσετε; Και ουδείς αναβέβηκεν εις τον ουρανόν ει μή ο εκ του ουρανού καταβάς\, ο Υιός του ανθρώπου ο ών εν τω ουρανώ. Και καθώς Μωϋσής ύψωσε τον όφιν εν τη ερήμω\, ούτως υψωθήναι δεί τον Υιόν του ανθρώπου\, ίνα πάς ο πιστεύων εις αυτόν μή απόληται\, αλλ᾽ έχη ζωήν αιώνιον.

Εποίησε δε ούτω· και λέγει αυτώ· περιβαλού το ιμάτιόν σου και ακολούθει μοι. Και εξελθών ηκολούθει αυτώ\, και ουκ ᾔδει ότι αληθές εστι το γινόμενον διά του αγγέλου\, εδόκει δε όραμα βλέπειν. Διελθόντες δε πρώτην φυλακήν και δευτέραν ήλθον επί την πύλην την σιδηράν την φέρουσαν εις την πόλιν\, ήτις αυτομάτη ηνοίχθη αυτοίς· και εξελθόντες προήλθον ρύμην μίαν· και ευθέως απέστη ο Άγγελος απ᾿ αυτού. Και ο Πέτρος γενόμενος εν εαυτώ είπε· νύν οίδα αληθώς ότι εξαπέστειλε Κύριος τον Άγγελον αυτού και εξείλετό με εκ χειρός ῾Ηρῴδου και πάσης της προσδοκίας του λαού των ᾿Ιουδαίων.\nΑνάγνωσις Ευαγγελίου: Κατά Ιωάννην 1:35-52\nΤω καιρώ εκείνω\, ειστήκει ο Ιωάννης και εκ των μαθητών αυτού δύο\, και εμβλέψας τω Ιησού περιπατούντι λέγει· ίδε ο αμνός του Θεού. και ήκουσαν αυτού οι δύο μαθηταί λαλούντος\, και ηκολούθησαν τω Ιησού. 38 στραφείς δε ο Ιησούς και θεασάμενος αυτούς ακολουθούντας λέγει αυτοίς· τί ζητείτε; οι δε είπον αυτώ· ραββί· ό λέγεται ερμηνευόμενον διδάσκαλε· πού μένεις; λέγει αυτοίς· έρχεσθε και ίδετε. ήλθον ούν και είδον πού μένει\, και παρ’ αυτώ έμειναν την ημέραν εκείνην· ώρα ήν ως δεκάτη. ήν Ανδρέας ο αδελφός Σίμωνος Πέτρου εις εκ των δύο των ακουσάντων παρά Ιωάννου και ακολουθησάντων αυτώ. ευρίσκει ούτος πρώτος τον αδελφόν τον ίδιον Σίμωνα και λέγει αυτώ· ευρήκαμεν τον Μεσσίαν· ό εστι μεθερμηνευόμενον Χριστός· και ήγαγεν αυτόν πρός τον Ιησούν. εμβλέψας αυτώ ο Ιησούς είπε· σύ ει Σίμων ο υιός Ιωνά\, σύ κληθήση Κηφάς\, ό ερμηνεύεται Πέτρος. But we had hoped that He was the one to redeem Israel. Yes\, and besides all this\, it is now the third day since this happened. Moreover\, some women of our company amazed us. They were at the tomb early in the morning and did not find His body; and they came back saying that they had even seen a vision of angels\, who said that He was alive. Some of those who were with us went to the tomb\, and found it just as the women had said; but Him they did not see.” And He said to them\, “O foolish men\, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Are you Elijah?” He said\, “I am not.” “Are you the prophet?” And he answered\, “No.” They said to him then\, “Who are you? let us have an answer for those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?” He said\, “I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness\, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord\,’ as the prophet Isaiah said.”\nNow they had been sent from the Pharisees. They asked him\, “Then why are you baptizing\, if you are neither the Christ\, nor Elijah\, nor the prophet?” John answered them\, “I baptize with water; but among you stands one whom you do not know\, even he who comes after me\, the thong of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie.” This took place in Bethany beyond the Jordan\, where John was baptizing.

We were buried therefore with Him by baptism into death\, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father\, we too might walk in newness of life.  For if we have been united with Him in a death like His\, we shall certainly be united with Him in a resurrection like His.  We know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the sinful body might be destroyed\, and we might no longer be enslaved to sin.  For he who has died is freed from sin.  But if we have died with Christ\, we believe that we shall also live with Him.  For we know that Christ being raised from the dead will never die again; death no longer has dominion over Him. And when they had assembled with the elders and taken counsel\, they gave a sum of money to the soldiers and said\, “Tell people\, ‘His disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep.’ And if this comes to the governor’s ears\, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” So they took the money and did as they were directed; and this story has been spread among the Jews to this day.\nNow the eleven disciples went to Galilee\, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshiped him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them\, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations\, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit\, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo\, I am with you always\, to the close of the age.
