Ο δε Πιλάτος εθαύμασεν ει ήδη τέθνηκε\, και προσκαλεσάμενος τον κεντυρίωνα επηρώτησεν αυτόν ει πάλαι απέθανε· και γνούς από του κεντυρίωνος εδωρήσατο το σώμα τω Ιωσήφ. Η δε Μαρία η Μαγδαληνή και Μαρία Ιωσή εθεώρουν πού τίθεται. Και διαγενομένου του σαββάτου Μαρία η Μαγδαληνή και Μαρία η του Ιακώβου και Σαλώμη ηγόρασαν αρώματα ίνα ελθούσαι αλείψωσιν αυτόν. Και λίαν πρωῒ της μιάς σαββάτων έρχονται επί το μνημείον\, ανατείλαντος του ηλίου. Και έλεγον πρός εαυτάς· Τις αποκυλίσει ημίν τον λίθον εκ της θύρας του μνημείου; Και αναβλέψασαι θεωρούσιν ότι αποκεκύλισται ο λίθος· ήν γαρ μέγας σφόδρα. Και εισελθούσαι εις το μνημείον είδον νεανίσκον καθήμενον εν τοις δεξιοίς\, περιβεβλημένον στολήν λευκήν\, και εξεθαμβήθησαν. Ο δε λέγει αυταίς· μή εκθαμβείσθε· Ιησούν ζητείτε τον Ναζαρηνόν τον εσταυρωμένον· ηγέρθη\, ουκ έστιν ώδε· ίδε ο τόπος όπου έθηκαν αυτόν. Αλλ᾿ υπάγετε είπατε τοις μαθηταίς αυτού και τω Πέτρω ότι προάγει υμάς εις την Γαλιλαίαν· εκεί αυτόν όψεσθε\, καθώς είπεν υμίν. Now the high priest came and those who were with him and called together the council and all the senate of Israel\, and sent to the prison to have them brought. But when the officers came\, they did not find them in the prison\, and they returned and reported\, ‘We found the prison securely locked and the sentries standing at the doors\, but when we opened it we found no one inside.” Now when the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these words\, they were much perplexed about them\, wondering what this would come to. And some one came and told them\, “The men whom you put in prison are standing in the temple and teaching the people.” Then the captain with the officers went and brought them\, but without violence\, for they were afraid of being stoned by the people.\nAnd when they had brought them\, they set them before the council. So when the people saw that Jesus was not there\, nor his disciples\, they themselves entered the boats and went to Capernaum\, seeking Jesus.\nWhen they found him on the other side of the sea\, they said to him\, “Rabbi\, when did you come here?” Jesus answered them\, “Truly\, truly\, I say to you\, you seek me\, not because you saw signs\, but because you ate your fill of the loaves. Do not labor for the food which perishes\, but for the food which endures to eternal life which the Son of man will give to you; for on him has God the Father set his seal.”

We have an altar from which those who serve the tent have no right to eat.  For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest as a sacrifice for sin are burned outside the camp.  So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood.  Therefore let us go forth to him outside the camp and bear the abuse he endured.  For here we have no lasting city\, but we seek the city which is to come. And he said to them\, “Take nothing for your journey\, no staff\, nor bag\, nor bread\, nor money; and do not have two tunics. And whatever house you enter\, stay there\, and from there depart. And wherever they do not receive you\, when you leave that town shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them.” And they departed and went through the villages\, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.

Ως δε εγεύσατο ο αρχιτρίκλινος το ύδωρ οίνον γεγενημένον – και ουκ ᾔδει πόθεν εστίν· οι δε διάκονοι ᾔδεισαν οι ηντληκότες το ύδωρ – φωνεί τον νυμφίον ο αρχιτρίκλινος καί λέγει αυτώ· Πάς άνθρωπος πρώτον τον καλόν οίνον τίθησι\, και όταν μεθυσθώσι\, τότε τον ελάσσω· σύ τετήρηκας τον καλόν οίνον έως άρτι. When the steward of the feast tasted the water now become wine\, and did not know where it came from (though the servants who had drawn the water knew)\, the steward of the feast called the bridegroom and said to him\, “Every man serves the good wine first; and when men have drunk freely\, then the poor wine; but you have kept the good wine until now.” This\, the first of his signs\, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee\, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

As the Father has sent Me\, even so I send you.” And when He had said this\, He breathed on them and said to them\, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any\, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any\, they are retained.” Now Thomas\, one of the twelve\, called the Twin\, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him\, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them\, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails\, and place my finger in the mark of the nails\, and place my hand in His side\, I will not believe.” Eight days later\, His disciples were again in the house\, and Thomas was with them. The doors were shut\, but Jesus came and stood among them and said\, “Peace be with you.” Then He said to Thomas\, “Put your finger here\, and see My hands; and put out your hand\, and place it in My side; do not be faithless\, but believing.” Thomas answered Him\, “My Lord and My God!” Jesus said to him\, “Have you believed because you have seen Me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe.” Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples\, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ\, the Son of God\, and that believing\, you may have life in His name.
