But when we are judged by the Lord\, we are chastened so that we may not be condemned along with the world. So then\, my brethren\, when you come together to eat\, wait for one another – if any one is hungry\, let him eat at home – lest you come together to be condemned. About the other things I will give directions when I come. Now concerning the spiritual gifts\, brethren\, I do not want you to be uninformed. You know that when you were heathen\, you were led astray to dumb idols\, however you may have been moved. Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking by the Spirit of God ever says “Jesus be cursed!” and no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except by the Holy Spirit. Now there are varieties of gifts\, but the same spirit; and there are varieties of service\, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of working\, but it is the same God who inspires them all in every one.\nGospel Reading: Matthew 18:1-11\nAt that time\, the disciples came to Jesus\, saying\, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” And calling to him a child\, he put him in the midst of them and said\, “Truly\, I say to you\, unless you turn and become like children\, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child\, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.\n“Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me; but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin\, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened round his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.\n“Woe to the world for temptations to sin! For it is necessary that temptations come\, but woe to the man by whom the temptation comes! And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin\, cut it off and throw it away; it is better for you to enter life maimed or lame than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the eternal fire. And if your eye causes you to sin\, pluck it out and throw it away; it is better for you to enter life with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into the Gehenna of fire.\n“See that you do not despise one of these little ones; for I tell you that in heaven their angels always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven. For the Son of man came to save the lost.”

Κρινόμενοι δέ\, υπό κυρίου παιδευόμεθα\, ίνα μή σύν τω κόσμω κατακριθώμεν. Ώστε\, αδελφοί μου\, συνερχόμενοι εις το φαγείν\, αλλήλους εκδέχεσθε. Ει δε τις πεινά\, εν οίκω εσθιέτω· ίνα μή εις κρίμα συνέρχησθε. Τα δε λοιπά\, ως άν έλθω\, διατάξομαι. Περί δε των πνευματικών\, αδελφοί\, ου θέλω υμάς αγνοείν. Οίδατε ότι ότε έθνη ήτε πρός τα είδωλα τα άφωνα\, ως άν ήγεσθε\, απαγόμενοι. Διό γνωρίζω υμίν\, ότι ουδείς εν πνεύματι θεού λαλών λέγει Ανάθεμα Ιησούν· και ουδείς δύναται ειπείν\, Κύριον Ιησούν\, ει μή εν πνεύματι αγίω. Διαιρέσεις δε χαρισμάτων εισίν\, το δε αυτό πνεύμα. Και διαιρέσεις διακονιών εισίν\, και ο αυτός κύριος. Και διαιρέσεις ενεργημάτων εισίν\, ο δε αυτός εστιν θεός\, ο ενεργών τα πάντα εν πάσιν.\nΑνάγνωσις Ευαγγελίου: Κατά Ματθαίον 18:1-11\nΤω καιρώ εκείνω\, προσήλθον οι μαθηταί τω ᾿Ιησού λέγοντες· τίς άρα μείζων εστίν εν τη βασιλεία των ουρανών; καί προσκαλεσάμενος ο ᾿Ιησούς παιδίον έστησεν αυτό εν μέσω αυτών και είπεν· αμήν λέγω υμίν\, εάν μή στραφήτε και γένησθε ως τα παιδία\, ου μή εισέλθητε εις την βασιλείαν των ουρανών. όστις ούν ταπεινώσει εαυτόν ως το παιδίον τούτο\, ούτός εστιν ο μείζων εν τη βασιλεία των ουρανών. καί ός εάν δέξηται παιδίον τοιούτον έν επί τω ονόματί μου\, εμέ δέχεται· ός δ᾿ άν σκανδαλίση ένα των μικρών τούτων των πιστευόντων εις εμέ\, συμφέρει αυτώ ίνα κρεμασθή μύλος ονικός εις τον τράχηλον αυτού και καταποντισθή εν τω πελάγει της θαλάσσης. Ουαί τω κόσμω από των σκανδάλων· ανάγκη γάρ εστιν ελθείν τα σκάνδαλα· πλήν ουαί τω ανθρώπω εκείνω δι᾿ ού το σκάνδαλον έρχεται. ει δε η χείρ σου ή ο πούς σου σκανδαλίζει σε\, έκκοψον αυτά και βάλε από σού· καλόν σοί εστιν εισελθείν εις την ζωήν χωλόν ή κυλλόν\, ή δύο χείρας ή δύο πόδας έχοντα βληθήναι εις το πύρ το αιώνιον. καί ει ο οφθαλμός σου σκανδαλίζει σε\, έξελε αυτόν και βάλε από σού· καλόν σοί εστι μονόφθαλμον εις την ζωήν εισελθείν\, ή δύο οφθαλμούς έχοντα βληθήναι εις την γέενναν του πυρός. ῾Οράτε μή καταφρονήσητε ενός των μικρών τούτων· λέγω γαρ υμίν ότι οι άγγελοι αυτών εν ουρανοίς διά παντός βλέπουσι το πρόσωπον του πατρός μου του εν ουρανοίς. ήλθε γαρ ο υιός του ανθρώπου σώσαι το απολωλός.
