For why should my liberty be determined by another man’s scruples? If I partake with thankfulness\, why am I denounced because of that for which I give thanks? So\, whether you eat or drink\, or whatever you do\, do all to the glory of God. Give no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God\, just as I try to please all men in everything I do\, not seeking my own advantage\, but that of many\, that they may be saved. Be imitators of me\, as I am of Christ. I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I have delivered them to you. But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ\, the head of a woman is her husband\, and the head of Christ is God. For a man ought not to cover his head\, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. Συνείδησιν δε λέγω\, ουχί την εαυτού\, αλλά την του ετέρου· ίνα τί γαρ η ελευθερία μου κρίνεται υπό άλλης συνειδήσεως; Ει εγώ χάριτι μετέχω\, τί βλασφημούμαι υπέρ ού εγώ ευχαριστώ; Είτε ούν εσθίετε\, είτε πίνετε\, είτε τι ποιείτε\, πάντα εις δόξαν θεού ποιείτε. Θέλω δε υμάς ειδέναι\, ότι παντός ανδρός η κεφαλή ο Χριστός εστιν· κεφαλή δε γυναικός\, ο ανήρ· κεφαλή δε Χριστού\, ο θεός. Πάς ανήρ προσευχόμενος ή προφητεύων\, κατά κεφαλής έχων\, καταισχύνει την κεφαλήν αυτού. Πάσα δε γυνή προσευχομένη ή προφητεύουσα ακατακαλύπτω τη κεφαλή\, καταισχύνει την κεφαλήν εαυτής· έν γαρ εστιν και το αυτό τη εξυρημένη. Ει γαρ ου κατακαλύπτεται γυνή\, και κειράσθω· ει δε αισχρόν γυναικί το κείρασθαι ή ξυράσθαι\, κατακαλυπτέσθω. Ανήρ μέν γαρ ουκ οφείλει κατακαλύπτεσθαι την κεφαλήν\, εικών και δόξα θεού υπάρχων· γυνή δε δόξα ανδρός εστιν. Ου γαρ εστιν ανήρ εκ γυναικός\, αλλά γυνή εξ ανδρός·\nΑνάγνωσις Ευαγγελίου: Κατά Ματθαίον 16:24-28\nΕίπεν ο Κυριος τοις εαυτού μαθηταίς· Ει τις θέλει οπίσω μου ελθείν\, απαρνησάσθω εαυτόν και αράτω τον σταυρόν αυτού και ακολουθείτω μοι. ός γαρ άν θέλη την ψυχήν αυτού σώσαι\, απολέσει αυτήν· ός δ᾿ άν απολέση την ψυχήν αυτού ένεκεν εμού\, ευρήσει αυτήν. τί γαρ ωφελείται άνθρωπος εάν τον κόσμον όλον κερδήση\, την δε ψυχήν αυτού ζημιωθή; ή τί δώσει άνθρωπος αντάλλαγμα της ψυχής αυτού; μέλλει γαρ ο υιός του ανθρώπου έρχεσθαι εν τη δόξη του πατρός αυτού μετά των αγγέλων αυτού\, και τότε αποδώσει εκάστω κατά την πράξιν αυτού. αμήν λέγω υμίν\, εισί τινες των ώδε εστηκότων\, οίτινες ου μή γεύσωνται θανάτου έως άν ίδωσι τον υιόν του ανθρώπου ερχόμενον εν τη βασιλεία αυτού.
